554.109 Exemptions.This chapter does not apply to potable hot water supply boilers or lined storage water heaters that are directly fired with oil, gas, electricity, or solar energy, provided that none of the following limitations is exceeded:
(1) Heat input of 400,000 Btu per hour.
(2) Water temperature of 210 degrees Fahrenheit.
(3) Nominal water-containing capacity of 120 gallons.
